Okay, found out some things on why the themes were not working.  This may be helpful for anyone else who is having a problem with their sidebar in wordpress.  Two things were causing problems.  The first thing I was having problems with was running javascripts in the sidebar, not good.  It, as well as the next situation, pushes the sidebar to the bottom of the page.  The second thing, and the biggie, was pictures.  If pictures run past the fixed width of the post colum it pushes out the sidebar.

Avoid those two and you should be good to go.

I’m still having a heck of a time with this blog.  I don’t know if it’s the new version of wordpress or not.  Everything looks fine in some browsers but not others.  If you have any ideas as to what’s going on I’d love to hear them.  For now I’ve cut a lot of the theme down, but I’ve lost links to the correct RSS Feed… I’ll keep working on it!
